C-DAC Bangalore under the aegis of the Office of the Controller of Certifying Authorities, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, invites participants for the workshop on Blockchain for PKI, featuring hackathon, paper presentations and invited talks on this topic. This is one of a unique event featuring the use of Blockchain exclusively for the PKI ecosystem and PKI applications. This workshop-cum-hackathon is being organized with the technical support of IEEE Bangalore Section.
About HackChain4PKI
Developers, Students and interested members are invited to
participate in this hackathon competition. Participants are expected
to participate in a team or as an individual. The team size can be a
maximum of five members. A preliminary intro to PKI and
Blockchain can be found online at: https://youtube.com/pkiindia
Participants are requested to either work on the problem statements
given on the Website, or propose their problem statements relating
to the use of Blockchain in PKI and can work on the same, upon
approval/incorporating the suggestions given by the jury.

We seek research paper submissions on the innovative use of Blockchain in the PKI Ecosystem and PKI applications. Some of the topics of interest include, but not limited to:

Electronic Trust Management
Blockchain for Key Rollovers in PKI
PKI and Blockchain Integration Issues

Scalability issues specific to PKI and Blockchain

Rules and Prizes
Hackathon participants are required to register before the deadline giving the details of the team, and the problem statement that they have chosen to work on. Participants are required to submit a working demo (video tutorial) of their code, along with the the complete code and details of pre-requisite software. The participating teams will be notified for making a short presentation, which has to be made during the workshop. The jury’s decision will be final and binding. The copyright of all the submissions will be held by C-DAC with due credits to the authors.
